This is a brief overview of the PruHealth medical insurance product available to small and medium sized employers in the UK. Full details are available on request.

PruHealth was launched in October 2004 and is a joint venture between Prudential and Discovery, the South African health insurance leader. Its model is based on a successful concept launched in South Africa and the US.

Product features

The company paid medical insurance plan offered by PruHealth offers top quality medical insurance and a wide range of product features that are not available from the other providers.  These are summarised below:

  • Premium rebates based on claims experience – up to 25% rebated
  • Active promotion of good health reduces absenteeism and encourages loyalty
  • Future inflation control by promoting good health and therefore keeping claims under control
