Our technology solutions Select Benefits, Simply Benefits and Surveyspace are provided as a "thin-client" (i.e. web browser based) applications served from a secure data centre connected to the UK's Internet backbone.

The data centre is physically located in Telecity in Docklands, London. The Telecity facility is widely regarded as one of the best locations from which to host Internet applications in the UK.
The centre offers the broadest range of available Internet connectivity from all UK tier one Internet Service providers along with sophisticated building management systems that monitor and remotely operate sensors covering electrical, mechanical, fire detection and water leakage systems. It has multiple mains electricity feeds are supported by a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system with generator backup.
Applications manipulating sensitive data such as salary and benefit information must be secure from malicious or accidental attempts to extract unauthorised information. Data Centre security is ensured through multiple layers of protection within the building itself, including uniformed security and CCTV. Application security is ensured with multiple firewalls and servers.
The core application server developed by Redbourne has been released as open source software under the name of Whitebeam. Based around the Apache webserver and Mozilla JavaScript engine Whitebeam provides an XML processing framework for all our applications.
